2017 Canal Days Poster

Artist:  Lorraine Staunch.

Staunch is the second person to achieve the distinction a second time. Her recent work is “Flags Waving over Fairport.”

“The last time I saw the Canal Days flags waving in the wind, I was moved,” said Staunch. “They awoke a celebratory reaction in me. I just had to paint it. Through the years Fairport Canal Days has brought the community together as I hope these flags bring us as a little bit closer to each other. Enjoy.”

Staunch, a resident of Fairport, is a graduate of Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, where she majored in painting and minored in sculpture.
